RKM Communication and Digital on Radio Frequency Spectrum Based on License Class and Technical Standards for Telecommunications Equipment and/or Telecommunication Devices for Local Area Network Radio
In accordance with the provisions of Article 11, paragraph (2) of the Minister of Communication and Informatics Regulation Number 2 of 2023 concerning the Use of Radio Frequency Spectrum Based on License Class, the Ministry of Communication and Digital is currently preparing technical standards for telecommunications equipment and/or telecommunication devices for Local Area Network (LAN) radio, which will be established in the form of Ministerial Decree.
The draft Ministerial Decree on Radio Frequency Spectrum Based on License Class and Technical Standards for Telecommunications Equipment and/or Telecommunication Devices for Local Area Network (LAN) Radio will, among other things, specify the following:
- Radio frequency spectrum based on license class for telecommunications equipment and/or telecommunication devices for Local Area Network (LAN) radio:
- 2400-2483.5 MHz
- 5150- 5250 MHz
- 5250-5350 MHz
- 5725-5825 MHz
- 5925- 6425 MHz
- 57-64 GHz
- Technical standards for telecommunications equipment and/or telecommunication devices for Local Area Network (LAN) radio:
- Operating in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands
- Operating in the 6 GHz frequency band
- Operating in the 60 GHz frequency band
- Technical requirements to be met include:
- Power supply requirements
- Electrical safety requirements
- Electromagnetic compatibility requirements, consisting of: Immunity & Emissions
- Non-ionizing radiation requirements
- Radio frequency requirements, including:
- Usage classification
- Operating frequency and channel bandwidth
- Interfaces
- Antennas
- Firmware
- Interference mitigation features
- RF output power
- Conducted output power
- Spurious emissions
- Out-of-band emissions
- Testing methods
- Operational technical provisions.
In accordance with Article 46 of Law Number 30 of 2014 on Goverment Administration, which mandates that goverment agencies provide socialization to relevant stakeholders before making decisions, the Ministry of Communication and Digital invites stakeholders, including manufacturers, Telecommunications Equipment Testing Centers, academics, and the general public to provide input on the draft Ministerial Decree on Radio Frequency Spectrum Based on License Class and Technical Standards for Telecommunications Equipment and/or Telecommunication Devices for Local Area Network (LAN) Radio.
