RKM Communication and Digital on Radio Frequency Spectrum Based on License Class and Technical Standards for Wireless Power Transmission
According to Minister of Communication and Information Regulation Number 2 of 2023 on the Use of Radio Frequency Spectrum Based on License Class, the radio frequency spectrum for telecommunications equipment and/or Short Range Devices (SRD), including Wireless Power Transmission (WPT), has been established.
The Ministry of Communication and Digital has also set technical standards for WPT devices through the Minister of Communication and Information Decree Number 260 of 2024 on Technical Standards for Short Range Devices.
However, to meet the needs of new technologies and improve efficiency in the use of wireless power transmission, additional radio frequency bands are necessary, as recommended by the International Telecommunication Union.
Therefore, the Ministry of Communication and Digital is revising the radio frequency spectrum based on license class and technical standards for wireless power transmission, which will be formalized through a Ministerial Decree.
The draft Ministerial Decree on Radio Frequency Spectrum Based on License Class and Technical Standards for Wireless Power Transmission will address the following key points:
- Radio frequency spectrum based on license class for wireless power transmission, including:
- 100-119 kHz;
- 119-135 kHz;
- 135-140 kHz;
- 140-148.5 kHz;
- 315-405 kHz;
- 1700-1800 kHz;
- 6765-6795 kHz;
- 13.553-13.567 kHz;
- Technical Standards for wireless power transmission that must be met, including:
- Power supply requirements;
- Non-ionizing radiation requirements;
- Electrical safety requirements;
- Electromagnetic compatibility requirments, including immunirt and emmision;
- radio frequency requirements, including frequency bands, field strength, spurious emmisions from transmitters, and antenna requierments;
- Testing methods;
- Operational technical provisions for wireless power transmission;
- Revocation of techbical standards for wireless power transmission in Minister of Communication and Information Decree Number 260 of 2024 on Technical Standards for Short range Devices.
In accordance with Article 46 of Law Number 30 of 2014 on Goverment Administration, where goverment institutions are required to provide socialization to stakeholders before making decisions, the Ministry of Communication and Digital invites stakeholders, including manufacturers, Telecommunication Equipment Testing Centers, academics, and general public to provide input on the draft Ministerial Decree on Radio Frequency Spectrum Based on License Class and Technical Standards for Wireless Power Transmission.
